History of the Army of Christ M/m

Origins.......

In the early 2000's, our ministry president (and founder), Dubltap, had left a motorcycle minitry that he had been affiliated with due to concerns that the ministry was not being led in a biblical manner.  Rather, this ministry was moving more and more into acting more like a club than a ministry.  At this time, the Lord planted the seed in him about a ministry that had a strong basis in the original foundations of the Templar Knights.  An organization that was initially established to protect those taking part in their pilgrimages to the Holy Land.  (See "Who were the knights Templar" section below)

Many years later, Dubltap's dear friend and brother-in-christ (Pastor Joker) approached him and asked “How serious were you about this Army of Christ thing?”   The rest, as they say.....is history.  That day in November, 2013, was the day that the AoC was formed by Dubltap and Joker.

The key principles of the AoC can be summed up best by the 8 Tenets of the Templar order.   More or less their own Code of Conduct, as it were...

WHO WERE THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR?

http://www.history.com/topics/the-knights-templar

After Christian armies in 1099 captured Jerusalem from Muslim control during the Crusades, groups of pilgrims from across Western Europe started visiting the Holy Land. Many of them, however, were robbed and killed as they crossed through Muslim-controlled territories during their journey.
Around 1118, a French knight named Hugues de Payens created a military order along with eight relatives and acquaintances, calling it the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and the Temple of Solomon—later known simply as the Knights Templar.
With the support of Baldwin II, the ruler of Jerusalem, they set up headquarters on that city’s sacred Temple Mount—from which they took their name—and pledged to protect Christian visitors to Jerusalem.

These are the 8 tenets of the Templar order

(Some Explaination for each included for clarification of what they mean to us as a ministry of God)

1) Live in Truth

Do not bear false witness. Be truthful in all that you do.

2) Have Faith

Trust in the Lord and his plans for you. Though we may face difficulties and challenges in life, His plan with be revealed and we must be patient.

3) Repent of Sins

Do not knowingly live in sin. If you continue in your sinful ways, you’re throwing Gods grace back in his face.

4) Show Humility

Lay down your pride!!! Do not be prideful or live in judgment of others. We ALL sin! My sin is not greater or lesser than yours. Our purpose is to share Gods love and grace. Not point out flaws in our brothers and sisters.

5) Love Justice

The word here is “JUSTICE”. “Vengeance is MINE” said the Lord. Romans 12:19, states that we must be JUST in our dealings with our brothers and sisters, and even with non-believers, to show them what being a Christian means.

6) Be Merciful

Show mercy and love in all we do. We represent the Lord. Show his mercy as he has shown it to us.

7) Be Sincere

We are not here to spew the word of God as recorders. Show sincerity in all aspects of life. Never hide behind the lies that the world sets before us.

8) Endure Persecution

As Christians, and ministers of the Lord’s word, we will be faced with persecution on many levels. We must endure this with the patience and grace that God has charged us with. Do not fall into the trap of directing hatred to those who wish us ill for our faith.
