All new members of the Army of Christ M/M must sign a copy of this code of conduct, to be kept on file, as it is a legally binding contract with the organization.
1. The Army of Christ is a MINISTRY, not a club! The club mentality has zero place in this ministry, and WILL NOT be tolerated! If you want to join a club, then do so. The AoC is a MINISTRY, and will be conducted as such. We WILL, however, respect club etiquette when interacting with the club community. In most cases, we are in their house, so we follow their rules. Most clubs are very understanding of the fact that we are a Ministry.
2. All members of Army of Christ Motorcycle Ministry are responsible for keeping the image and concept of the organization while representing Army of Christ M/M. In no way should any member represent themselves or the ministry in a way that will bring disgrace to the ministry's reputation. Remember, you joined the Army of Christ, NOT the army of your own worldly desires! (This includes behavior on social media platforms!)
3. Members are required to attend SIX monthly meetings in any given calendar year. Members who join throughout the calendar year will be required to attend half of the upcoming meetings in the remaining calendar year. We fully understand that life happens. Work and family responsibilities are a priority. This is why we are requiring SIX, and not TWELVE meetings. We are making a commitment to God, as well as our brothers and sisters in the ministry, and it is only fair that we make every effort to take part in the efforts of this ministry TOGETHER! For those that have difficulty meeting these requirements (wether due to work, or other circumstances beyond the individuals control), concessions can be made with direct contact with either the President or Vice President.
4. Members are to promote cooperative co-existence with other motorcycle ministries, clubs and organizations. Members are to respect all members of such ministries, clubs and organizations. We are here FOR the biker community! We must always strive to let them know this.
5. Members are expected to ride responsibly. Obey all traffic laws and safe riding practices. We all look forward to meeting our Lord, but let’s not RUSH the meeting!
6. Members are expected to treat all members and guests with the utmost respect at all times. This ministry was created to serve and minister to the biker community but we are not limited to biker ministry. IF the opportunity shows itself to minister to NON BIKERS then by all means we will do what we can to minister to that group of people. Everyone is welcome at our events and our rides no matter if they are on 2 wheels or 4 wheels. Jesus, Himself, never limited his ministry to only select people and in the end why would we?
7. Any grievance between members should first be addressed between the individuals. If this is not possible, or a a resolution cannot be reached, then bring it before others within the ministry. If neither of these avenues are effective, the issue shall be taken directly to a member of the board of directors or a member of our board of Elders. This is as Christ counseled in Matthew 18:15-17. Remember that we all receive God’s Grace and forgiveness. Who are we, to deny others of the same from us? “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
8. The board of Directors has the right to take any appropriate disciplinary action, including revoking membership, written reprimand and oral reprimand of any member in violation of this Code of Conduct. Membership revocation will be decided by a 2/3 vote of the Board of Directors. In cases of revocation, Shield (Patch) surrender will be required.
9. At any point that a member leaves the ministry (voluntarily, or by unanimous vote of revocation of membership by the board of directors), said member will be required to surrender their Large Shield and M/M patch. Small Shield may be retained (in cases where member has left voluntarily), as we make these smaller patches available to the public as “Support” patches. This is non-negotiable.
10. Any member who has (3) disciplinary actions may not be nominated or elected into a position on the Board of Directors or as an Elder.
11. Any false reports of a member violating these codes of conduct will be treated as a violation of the code as well. All reports will be handled by the board of directors and handled appropriately.
